Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a teacher in a low-income/high-poverty school district where my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.

I may not be able to control their home lives; however, I can certainly control their experiences during the school day.

From the minute they walk in the door of my classroom, I focus on their potential and growth while they are with me. By doing this in a creative and positive way, I am hopeful to inspire even our earliest learners to continue on a path of academic excellence.

My Project

My students need rainbow pebbles, cot clips, and an external hard drive.. Right now, we cannot use the educational software that corresponds with our curriculum because we do not have an external hard drive to play it from. With the external hard drive, I can further the education of my students. This technology will motivate the students and increase their interest in academics. The cot clips are a huge necessity in our classroom because each cot needs to be labeled for sanitary purposes. We label the cots with mailing labels, but the students find a way to pull it off. The cot labels will provide a permanent labeling solution for the school year. The rainbow pebbles will be a great addition to our art center. The children can create art visuals that can be disassembled and used again the next day. The materials will not only provide the academics they need, but they will provide a fun learning environment for my students. I know that these materials will be exciting for my students to have. Any donations will help improve my classroom.

I am willing to do anything to foster a love for school at such a young age.

By having these materials, the students will have a fun, learning experience that will carry on with them throughout their years of schooling.
