My Students

My first graders love to listen to stories! Our CD player doesn't work anymore so they can't go to their listening center anymore. I would like to provide them with a new CD player so they can enjoy listening and reading stories everyday!

I am a first grade teacher at Title I school in Los Angeles.

I have 23 wonderful students in my classroom and they are enthusiastic and motivated to learn. Most of them are English Language Learners (ELL) and are now becoming fluent readers. They love listening to stories and sing to their favorite music.

My Project

I am requesting a portable CD player for the listening center and CD player for our classroom. We had 2 CD players in our classroom but neither of them are working anymore. Students will be able to go to listening center to listen to their favorite stories and follow along in their books. While they enjoy their favorite stories, they will also be building fluency and comprehension.

My students ask me when we will get a new CD player.

I told them we will get a new one soon. They have been very patient with me but I can see it in their eyes that they really miss their listening center. Please help us so my students can go to their listening center again and enjoy reading. Thank you!
