My Students

My students attend a suburban school right outside of Columbia, SC. We have a very diverse population. These students represent all different races, genders, and income populations. As a member of this community, I live among them, and am so proud to be a member of this community.

Theatre is an inclusive fine arts that welcomes all students.

I teach a class of sixth grade, and three classes of mixed seventh and eighth grade. Did I mention that our school hasn't had a theatre classroom in several years? Allowing students to have a freedom of expression with their bodies and voices will strengthen their independence and creative skills both in and out of the classroom.

My students are kind, creative, passionate, and dramatic. I am so excited to bring the immersive experience of theatre class to these students. Many of them are already "all in," and it's so exciting to watch!

My Project

This semester we are focusing on recording. I purchased one of these microphones for my own use in virtual class and it is making so much of a difference. My students are doing two different recording projects this semester. They have written a puppet show script and we will be recording these, and they are also recording their own stories for a large project base on Humans of New York.

By using podcast microphones, students will be able to bring their projects to a new level.

These are plug and play microphones that are compatible with my students' chromebooks. They do not require any additional software to work.

These students are so excited to bring their stories to life. By contributing to our project, you will be helping them to do so. These microphones are easily stored and can be used and shared by others at our Middle School.
