This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our high school recently introduced a new yoga and mindfulness class to support our students' physical and mental well-being. Many of our students face daily challenges academically in school and have difficult home situations. These challenges often lead to stress and anxiety. My class provides students with a much-needed space to breathe, move, and center themselves, in a way that ordinary physical education class does not provide.

However, as a high-needs school, we lack the essential equipment to make this program fully accessible.

We are seeking yoga mats, yoga blocks, and disinfectant wipes so that all students can participate safely and comfortably. These materials will allow students to fully engage in mindfulness practices, stretching, and stress relief exercises- building lifelong skills in self-care, focus, and resilience.

Your support will help us create a calming and inclusive space in the school building where students can develop healthy habits and find relief from the pressures of daily life. Thank you for helping us bring the benefits of yoga and mindfulness to those who need it most!
