Learning in our own way is one of the strategies we use to provide flexibility in our classroom. My co-teacher and I would like to provide the tools needed for students to succeed by providing an environment for students to learn to the best of their ability. My co-teacher and I would like to provide a safe, comfortable and homey environment that makes learning welcoming each and every day.
My fourth graders come from a diverse school community of about 600 students.
Together, we are all part of the largest elementary school in our district. These amazing fourth graders continue to inspire me with their desire to learn, and it is my job to find a way to make it.
My Project
After working with some upper grade levels and talking about future jobs and technologies, I have discovered the ToyBox 3D printer. This printer is user friendly for my grade levels and will be a great way to incorporate engineering and technology into my curriculum. One way I would like to use it would be for creating diagrams. For an example, in Science we were talking about parts of the eye and communication. What better way to discuss communication or parts of an eye by having a hands on model that students could use to describe. We also study the state of Wisconsin and its land features.... This would be a great way to create a 3D map.
