My students need individual copies of Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe for their novel unit. It is an essential component of our curriculum, which focuses on varying cultural perspectives. This book is always a hit!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Give this project a boost!
A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
Our school is a charter high school located in South Los Angeles. We are a health-themed school that seeks to increase the number of underrepresented minorities in the health services industry.
I teach 10th grade English classes, and my students love stories that help transform their world views by giving them representation and a voice.
Through novels, poetry, and dramatic works, they prepare for success in college by becoming critical readers and insightful writers. They are hardworking and dedicated to this goal.
The majority of my kids are from immigrant families that are eager to see them succeed in their education and depend on that imminent success. The kids are vibrant and funny and energetic, and they relish the opportunity to show off what they can do.
My Project
Our third unit this year uses an entire novel, Chinua Achebe's Things Fall Apart. My 10th-grade readers get engrossed in the story of Okonkwo and his tragic fall from power, and I am excited to provide students with their own copies of Things Fall Apart to read, annotate, and keep.
The curriculum does not provide the novel itself, which means each of our scholars needs to purchase their own copies, a cost many of our families cannot bear.
This fundraising effort will enable students to use the novel in the classroom and take it home to read and annotate as well.
