We teach 2nd graders that will move up with their current teachers for 3rd grade. Our kids are very different and require different materials to meet their individualized needs. In today's society, we are a technology-driven world and it makes it easier to differentiate to meet daily needs. Introducing technology early, allows students to be involved in keyboarding, using the internet, and different apps for communication and projects. Using technology will allow them to build skills to become creative, curious, youthful minds to be successful citizens.
The Second Grade team is working to have a class set, that can be rotated around to meet all of our students' needs.
Moving forward, we are implementing centers in Reading (Cafe) and math blocks. During this time, we will be able to differentiate by allowing students to have time to work on their independent level. We are also going to be working to improve reading fluency and fact fluency, and this is a great way to work on this while working with other students.
We are super excited at River Mill to work with our students and work to show growth among all students! Here is to a great 2nd-grade year!!
My Project
We are teachers at RMA and we want to bring technology to my students. Technology would benefit our second graders to implement individualized needs for them during centers, they would be able to take notes, and create projects.
We are living in the 21st century where kids love to use technology and are motivated by technology.
We want to teach our students how to become successful citizens in their daily lives and how to use technology properly. Many students struggle with handwriting and getting their thoughts on paper because it is so difficult for them to sound out and spell words. These Chromebooks would help those students become more confident and successful. When using Chromebooks, we also can create a Google classroom easier, which will save on creating paper copies.
