This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My Pre-Kindergarteners are bright, eager learners who love listening to stories. They are at a crucial stage in their literacy development, where hearing fluent reading models helps build their vocabulary, comprehension, and love for books. Many of my students are still developing foundational reading skills, and having access to engaging read-aloud books with CDs will support their growth in a fun and meaningful way.

I am requesting a collection of read-aloud books with CDs to enhance our classroom listening center.

These materials will allow my students to hear expressive, fluent reading while following along with the text. Listening to books read aloud helps young learners develop essential literacy skills such as comprehension, phonemic awareness, and vocabulary.

With these books, students can independently explore stories, build confidence in their reading abilities, and develop a lifelong love for books. This resource will be especially beneficial for my emergent readers and English language learners, providing them with an engaging way to hear language modeled fluently.

Our classroom is a place where all students should have the opportunity to grow as readers. However, we currently have a limited selection of books with audio, and many of my students do not have access to read-aloud resources at home. Your generous donation will help fill our listening center with high-quality books that will inspire my students and support their literacy journey.
