it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am requesting a subscription to Novel Effect, an app that brings stories to life with sound effects. With the subscription to this app, all of our students and teachers will be able to experience read-alouds that are immersive bringing stories to life with sound effects. This technology combines voice recognition and reading with sounds and music to transform a picture book! Reading The Cat in the Hat? What's that sound? Crash! Bump! Novel Effect brings authentic sounds into the classroom to enhance the story as the Cat in Hat goes about cleaning up the mess that has been made before the children's mother comes back home.
Reading aloud to children is the first introduction to literacy.
Adding the magic of sound effects to our stories will help students engage with the stories. This engagement will, in turn, help grow literacy skills, and drive the students' interest in reading. Both students and teachers will be able to use the app to read anytime, anywhere. We need to engage our students in reading for pleasure. The novelty of this app will definitely help us increase our students' interest in reading.
