This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our Sixth Grade students are ready to learn!!! We've started the year off right and we're looking forward to an amazing year, filled with great memories. Our students are self-directed and motivated to achieve individual and community goals.

Please consider contributing to our Science Camp Fund.

By doing so, you will give our students the lasting memory of a great educational experience in the beautiful Santa Barbara Mountains. Your donation will make a difference to a very deserving 6th grade student.

My Project

Thank you for taking the time to read this donation request. Everyone knows that students learn best when they are fully engaged in an activity. It's for this simple reason that our students are desperate to get up to the Santa Barbara Mountains for Outdoor Science Camp.

For many students, this will be their first opportunity to experience the wonders of our natural world.

Additionally, students will participate in hands-on activities and explore our local geology, geography, and ecology. The many hiking opportunities provided over the 4-day trip includes a Night Hike which focuses on animal adaptations and astronomy. The 9-Mile Hike is a lesson in goal setting and endurance and the Fossil Hike gives students a first-hand look at what their world looked liked millions of years ago.

In addition to being immersed in science education, students develop life skills like keeping a neat and tidy cabin, kitchen clean-up, and community building.
