PreK students at my school are amazing. They come to school each day ready to learn, they work hard, do their best and put their best foot forward each day as they prepare for Kindergarten.
The learning that happens in our classroom is going to help shape the type of learners these very young children will become.
We know from research that early experiences matter, that's why my goal is to provide my students with rich, fully engaging learning experiences that span through all areas of the curriculum.
My Project
For many of my students, their first experience with books happens in my PreK classroom. It is my job to introduce them to books in a way that is fun, exciting and engaging.
My goal, each day, is to engage my students in fun, meaningful learning experiences to instill a life long love of learning.
I'm requesting books that are simple, fun, and engaging for very young children. I'm also requesting puppets, characters and props to help make these stories more engaging and meaningful to the students. Students will have opportunities to use props to retell the story or to create their own stories. My hope is that by giving students these books and props stories will come alive for the children, and I will be able to instill in them a life long love of reading.
