Bringing Light To Sensory Play!

Help me give my students an exciting learning experience through light! The light table along with sensory play materials will encourage collaborative play and communication, which will promote the development of social skills.

My Project

Light is a source of visual sensory input. Light tables entice young children to play! I will use the light table for literacy, math, music, writing, and science. My children will be encouraged to learn through play by creating an inviting learning space. By providing open-ended experiences, arts and crafts, and teaching academic concepts with high-interest activities, the children will stay there for long periods, which will assist with increasing attention.

Children are drawn to light sources.

The glow of the light table will spark a curiosity to develop literacy, music, writing, math, and science skills. Toys look different with light beneath them, and colors are more vivid.

My preschool class is located in a public Title 1 school. Nearly all students have special education needs. Many of my students are from low-income households.
