My Students

My students come from a very rural background with limited access to technology. Many of these students have never seen a computer that was not an inexpensive cellphone or a budget chromebook. I often have students that want to see the cool and exciting new technologies that students on the news have.

When my STEM class gets to see famous Youtuber's like Mark Rober or SmarterEveryDay use 3D printers, they always ask about the kinds of things that can be designed with one.

I'd would love to get give my class the experience of watching their designs come to life, without a background in shop class.

COVID has made it very difficult for students to get to go on field trips and see new technology as it begins to emerge. My goal with this campaign is to bring the new technology to them!

My Project

Students will be able to use things they have learned in STEM class to create anything they can imagine. Students will get to learn how to write the program and use Computer Aided Design to print their designs. With all the requested filament, my classes will get to have plenty of trial and error with their designs, allowing them to make mistakes without feel like they are a failure. Lastly, my students and the students that follow them will be able to see what a future in engineering could look like, something many of these students will never know otherwise.
