This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My Classroom Economy is a program that enables me to teach my students financial responsibility through fun, experiential learning.
It's a simple classroom economic system based on the idea that students need to earn school "dollars" so that they can rent their own desks.
Every student has a job that pays a salary. By bringing real-world scenarios into the classroom, students see the impact of their decisions to save, spend, and budget.
I have all the paper supplies like checks, tickets etc. All I need now is the snacks for students to purchase at our classroom store with their classroom money!
More than half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
