My Project

Learning English is a complex task when your first language is different. It oftens feels as though Charlie Brown's teacher is speaking to ELLs when they are fully immersed in the mainstream classrooms. Thankfully the Kindergarten students I work with get time to come work in small groups using a specific English language program.

Listening and speaking to learn vocabulary is not enough, I need to bring the curriculum to life with engaging and fun supplemental activities.

The Kindergarten English Language learners I work with learn best by engaging in hands on activities that complement the vocabulary they are learning.

With this Teachers Pay Teachers gift card, I will be able to bring the language learning to life by adding in supplemental materials that will keep my students interested and give them hands-on practice with their English language development. Students will be able to use the school supplies they are learning with cutting and pasting activities. The gift card will also be used to purchase activities that supplement the mainstream classroom activities, such as interactive read alouds.
