My Students

Our students are hard working and kind. They look forward to a day of learning, whether it’s spending time in their book clubs, working with their writing partners, or brushing up on their multiplication facts. They have made so much progress since the beginning of the year because of the hard work they put in on a daily basis. We are so lucky to have such a wonderful class that show a love of learning and “bucket filling” qualities each and every day.

My Project

Creating a multiculturally diverse library will allow our students to read about characters from all around the world. Our students yearn to read stories with characters that look like them and have similar backgrounds. We will use these new chapter books to create book baskets that focus on cultures, rather than the traditional leveled library. We selected many books that are part of series because our students love reading about characters across a series, focusing on how the character stays true across multiple books. Having a culturally diverse library will increase our students' eagerness and love for reading!

Our students have expressed a wish for this multicultural classroom library and we know you can help us make their wish come true!!!
