Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The Apple MacBook computer will provide my bilingual second graders with access to coding programs, STEM applications, and digital literacy tools that enhance their problem-solving, critical thinking, and creativity. With this technology, students will engage in hands-on learning experiences, explore early computer science concepts, and develop essential 21st-century skills. This resource will also allow me to differentiate instruction, support English learners with interactive language tools, and create opportunities for collaborative, project-based learning.

By using the MacBook, students will explore coding, digital storytelling, and STEM projects that strengthen their mathematical reasoning and literacy skills.

I aim to foster confidence in technology use, encourage problem-solving through computational thinking, and ensure that all students—regardless of language background—have equitable access to digital learning opportunities.

For my bilingual students, this project will be especially impactful by integrating language development with hands-on technology experiences. They will have access to interactive tools that support their English acquisition while engaging in meaningful, real-world learning. Ultimately, my goal is to create an inclusive, future-ready classroom where every student feels empowered to explore, create, and innovate.

My students are a diverse group of bilingual learners who bring unique perspectives, creativity, and enthusiasm to the classroom. Many are developing English proficiency while simultaneously mastering grade-level content, demonstrating resilience and determination every day. They are curious, eager to learn, and benefit from hands-on, visual, and interactive learning experiences. By providing them with access to a MacBook, I can nurture their potential, bridge learning gaps, and open doors to opportunities that will prepare them for a future in STEM.
