Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a Title I school, which is considered the highest poverty, our students are in need of many tools to help them build a stronger educational and active foundation. Sports and technology can help these students to bridge social gaps and learn without language being a barrier.

Not only are we a Title I school, with many of our students coming from low-income backgrounds, but we also have a large group of immigrant students who are just learning to adapt to American culture.

Our students want to learn and we want to provide them with the best opportunity and equipment to succeed at whatever they put their minds to.

My Project

Our students have had a rough time adjusting to being back in school. Some have been isolated from their friends, family, activities, and the life they led pre covid-19. Our goal has been to reinvigorate them with some new ways to express themselves, which has led us to the idea of creating your comic book.

Our students need a healthy way to express their feelings with what has happened this past year and a half, so they will create their own comic book chronicling what has happened through their eyes using these drawing tablets and accessories.

This tech club project has been a great way to reach kids we thought lost or unmotivated. They now have the chance to speak with a language that can bring color, creativity and warmth to those around them.
