Bring Technology to My Classroom by Getting AP CSP Training!
I need a qualified Instructor for the AP Computer Science Principles Course which would bring technology to our school. So send me to computer camp this summer! I am requesting funding for computer science training. <infosys2016>

All high school teachers face the same battle -- taking students' attention away from their phones so they can help them learn! Well, why not allow them to use their phones to learn an important skill like computer science?
We service 160 students who are all classified as Learning Disabled or Emotionally Disabled.
My students constantly struggle to stay off the streets and in the classroom. I wish I could say that we save all of our kids, but the fact is, we do our best. Each year, students come to our school as non-readers, without ever having read a book. And it's our job to improve their literacy, and develop their writing and math skills.
There is nothing more difficult than trying to help someone that doesn't want to be helped. Our kids often see no value in school as it affects their lives. We must make the curriculum come alive, grasping their curiosity, challenging their imagination, and engaging their minds.
My Project
My students will be creating amazing phone apps -- some of which may become marketable. We may also produce apps for local businesses or for our school. The training I will be receiving will allow me to guide/facilitate the goals the students want to accomplish with their projects. They will also receive AP credit for the course and be able to take the AP CS Principles Test.
My project will get the attention of students for computer science -- they will be introduced to it in a fun way and will hopefully continue to study it as a career goal.
This could enable my students to find a career path that may not have been an option before, possibly keeping our young adults off the streets and employable!
