Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is wonderful. We have dedicated teachers and great leaders. However, it's in a low income area. My students need a variety of library books to help them build vocabulary and have visual knowledge of places and the things they have not experienced. For example, I have students who haven't been to Disney World so I have to explain and draw out pictures for them to visualize how amazing that place is. Also, they don't travel so I have to explain to them using a map where Europe, Africa, and South America are located. If I get books my students will be able to explore all these places and be able to see the beauty of them all. I want them to broaden their minds!!!

My Project

My students this year range from second graders to third graders. Their levels also vary. Using the laptops in the classroom will allow students to succeed in the classroom by giving them extra support when needed as well as pushing those who may be higher. Our school district provides many educational programs that could be accessed through the internet, having the laptops will allow students to engage in these reading and math programs. The mice will let the younger students manipulate the laptops easier.

Having ink in the classroom allows me as a teacher to differentiate assignments by printing what each student needs.

This is wonderful and many times over looked. Together these materials will grant students an opportunity to meet their academic goals.
