Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Give this project a boost!
A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
My students always look forward to hands on project days in Robotics, Engineering, Physics, and Drone Pilot Certification class. They come to class eager to learn and are always future minded. They are eager to learn about how things work through experimentation with hands on activities. I always strive to relate all of my teaching to real world applications to better prepare my students for the next stage of their life.
My Project
This 3D printer setup will be used extensively with my engineering, drone, physics and robotics students who are learning to use computer aided drafting with TinkerCAD and AutoCAD. This 3D printer kit will help with promoting STEM careers by teaching students the design process. I have lesson plans created that will challenge students to invent or modify an existing product in the world. From that they will design the product in AutoCAD and then they can create real three dimensional prototypes for testing the application. The real world skills that I plan to help students learn from this project include electronic drafting skills on computers, engineering design process skills and hands on building skills with a 3D printing machine. Students gain a better understanding of engineer design processes such as teamwork, planning, designing, building and sharing ideas. Students will be encouraged to use critical thinking and ultimately unlocking their full potential in the STEM field.
