Bring Show & Tell Back to High School

Help me give my students (11th &12th graders) a fun learning experience using a document camera, their daily classroom folders, and some markers to get to know each other. These supplies will be used throughout the year.

My Project

One of the projects that I enjoy doing with my students at the beginning of the year is "Show & Tell." Students bring in or take a photo of something that is meaningful to them and show this to the class.

Each student will make a draft of their folder on lined paper, they they will use the markers to draw things that are meaningful to them.

Finally, they will showcase their designed folder using the TT-12W Visual Presenter (document camera) to share their work with the class. Students will use the colored markers to write about themselves and create a symbol or drawing of a character that is meaningful to them. Students will present their folders to the class using the document camera.

Throughout the school year, students will be given the opportunity to teach the class/share their work using the document camera about a topic they are interested in teaching others about. They will also have the opportunity to write and share stories/personal narratives with the class.

Overall, this is a great way for my class to make connections with each other, become amazing presenters, and share a piece of themselves with their peers. Creating a positive classroom culture for all. I love learning about their interest/hopes to get to know them better. The hope is to create a community of learners where everyone feels welcome.
