My Students

Our public middle school consists of a diverse group of students of different backgrounds, abilities, and talents. Each student is in one of the following talent groups: dance, vocal music, band, visual art, photography, or drama. The arts are integral to our school.

We are a community of readers, thinkers, writers, bloggers, and activists.

My students routinely read, write about, and discuss current social issues, explore their identities, and immerse themselves in a wide range of literature.

Every day, my students inspire me with their energy and creativity.

My Project

In our next unit, students will be reading Romeo and Juliet. They will learn about the life and times of Shakespeare, read and write sonnets, and read and perform parts of the play.

Help us bring this timeless tale of star-crossed lovers to life!

Shakespeare plays are meant to be performed, and all students will be acting as Romeo, Juliet, Mercutio, Lady Capulet, Nurse, and all the other memorable characters.

But, we need some props and sources to bring the play to life and help all students have access to its rich content. Please help provide our classroom with a trove of theatrical costumes, props, and books that will bring Verona to Brooklyn!
