Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I work at a Title I school, which means my students come from low income/disadvantaged homes. This year my class has 17 out of 24 who are classified as LEP (limited English proficient). Our school also has a high number of refugees. Out of my 24, 5 in my class are refugees.
These students receive free lunches and many receive free clothes from school as well.
Although these students come from low-income households, they are not any less deserving of wonderful classroom experience. I create a positive classroom environment where students feel comfortable to learn and are set up for success for years to come.
My Project
The materials I am requesting for my classroom are items that will brighten the lives of my students and add to their positive experience.
The bright pastel rug will be placed in the middle of the room as a gathering and presentation area.
The wireless microphone will be used for sharing our writing and presentations. The wireless doorbell is an attention grabber to save time and create seamless transitions. The Flair Markers are for corresponding with my students via feedback, notes, and tests.
During the year, I kept a list of things in my phone of everything I felt like would add to the learning experience. I referenced it many times and reflected on it this summer. These are the items that I really feel that our classroom is lacking, and I know the students would absolutely adore.
