My Students

Music is the road to our students' hearts. I truly believe this mantra and strive every day to bring music to my students. Along with creating original music, I feel that my students deserve the opportunity to experience the music of their cultures and our American tradition.

I teach music to students with special needs in a public school.

At our school, the students range in grade from Kindergarten through fifth grade. The music program at our school is new and we do not have the funds to purchase our first music listening station.

My Project

Music listening stations have become popular in classrooms across the country. Unfortunately, our school's music program does not have access to one, which has put our students at a disadvantage. A music listening station will open our students up to the world of music. With the wireless headphones that I have requested, our students will be able to move around the classroom without being restricted by a cord. It is critical that the particular population of students at our school have the ability to move around freely.

Music should be a part of all our students' education.

Growing up many of us played music in school. If not, many of us learned in school how to be educated consumers of music. We live in a country rich with cultural and traditional music. To not have the opportunity to explore and understand our music would greatly diminish the quality of our lives. I ask that you help to provide the same opportunity to our students. With your help we can share the gift of music with our students.
