Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach Kindergarten in California to a group of four and five year old students. Like any child their age, my students come to school eager to learn.

My students LOVE to sing, but I only have a limited number of CDs that include a couple of artists. I know that my students would love to be exposed to more artists and a variety of music styles that are just right for little ones. After learning a new song, I often hear my students humming it at different times of the day. My students have a list of their favorite songs and are more than happy when they hear those songs played during circle time.

My students need to be exposed to a variety of children's songs to enhance their LOVE for music. They need a set of 16 CDs that include artists like: Hap Palmer, Greg & Steve, Dr. Jean, Ella Jenkins, Charlotte Diamond, and Raffi. My students will also need a CD player that is readily available to play their favorite songs when they visit the listening center. These items will ensure that music gets to their little ears while exposing them to new music and artists.

Your help will ensure that my Kindergarten students get more music to their ears as they continue to develop their LOVE and appreciation of the art of music!
