This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I absolutely love when the proverbial light bulb glows above my students' heads; it shows me that they are understanding what they are being taught. What better way to grab their interest than to bring a lesson to life? One way to do that is to put it up on the "big screen" in a big way!

The student population that I serve is composed of students who are learning disabled.

This does not mean that they cannot learn, they just learn in a different way. One way is to help them visualize what they are being taught. My students do not have the funds to buy a computer to help them visualize their work or cannot get to a library to use a computer due to constraints at home. In school there are always ways to help them and I hope that with your generosity you will be able to help them learn!

My Project

What wouldn't I be able to do with this pocket projector? I could show as well as teach them things that they would never have seen before. I could show them power points to explain my lessons, and videos to bring topics to life. Now no more boring worksheets or asking them to imagine what I am trying to say. This would enable me to show them in a creative way what I want them to know and accomplish.

I hope that this project will inspire my students to conduct their own research on topics that interest them.

Open a new visual world for them, help them to be creative in their own way and to aspire to great things. Being a special needs student does not mean "can't" it means "can!"
