My Students

My classroom is filled with 32 eager learners who are itching to explore the world around them. My students love hands-on experiences providing them the ability to manipulate their learning. Their favorite activities are building with blocks and creating things in the writing center using tape and paper. This desire to get their hands on things makes them the best candidates for augmented reality.

My school is part of one of the largest school districts in Southern California, and is one which does not receive additional funding such as Title I funds but has similar needs to such schools.

We are provided basic furniture (tables, chairs) but not funding that would allow us to explore this amazing new tool. Support in the form of this grant will make it possible!

My Project

Funding of this grant will allow me to purchase a supplemental reading and math suite called Learning Alive to help my students improve their reading and math skills.

The objective of our Learning alive Program is to help beginning and at-risk students improve their literacy and math skills so they can perform at grade level and master the basics to succeed in subsequent grades.

We expect to see dramatic improvements with most of the students increasing their reading and math ability significantly. The Learning alive Program provides students with access to the advanced technology of augmented reality and brings learning to "life"!
