it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We are a Title I public school located in the heart of Harlem. We serve a diverse and underprivileged student population, striving to provide enriching opportunities to enhance their educational experience.
We are excited to announce our first stage production, Madagascar, through Broadway Junior!
This marks a significant milestone for our school, as it is our first venture into a Broadway-style production. Our goal is to create memorable and transformative experiences for our students, fostering creativity, teamwork, and self-expression.
As we embark on this theatrical journey, we are faced with the challenge of securing costumes that will bring the characters to life and make this production truly spectacular. Unfortunately, our small budget set aside for the production needed to be spent on new microphones when we realized our out-of-date sound system was not fully functional. Given the financial constraints many public schools face, including ours, we are seeking your support to secure these costumes for our students.
This project will enable us to provide each student with a costume that aligns with their characters, fostering a sense of pride and confidence among our young performers. Additionally, this investment will contribute to building a sense of community and collaboration among our students, as we work to bring this production to our big stage.
