My Students

My students are AMAZING! They work hard, are inquisitive and creative. This year I want to incorporate more art into my classroom; adding the A into STEAM activities. To do this, we are channeling one of the most recognizable modern artists: Bob Ross! We want to add happy little trees to our National Parks lessons by adding watercolor landscapes as our students research the history and importance of public lands and national parks in our country. This will allow us to tie together science, art and history into one activity. Thank you!

My Project

Adding art into classrooms helps kids recognize new skills in themselves and allows students to showcase their different talents. Combining painting with our lesson on National Parks will allow students to take virtual tours and explore places all over the country. We will be incorporating creative arts along with technology and group work to explore these new places.

The connection between science and art increases understanding, helps to cultivate creativity and demonstrates our world's interconnection.

Using an iconic artist like Bob Ross to integrate watercolor in the classroom will not only engage my students but showcase their unique abilities. Many of my students come from homes at or below the poverty line with little to no resources to add to our classroom. Your donation will help expose my students to a new world. Thank you!
