Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This year we did an wonderful project where my students wrote mini-books about incredible Black people in America, like Sojourner Truth, Jessie Owens, and Ruby Bridges. This project was such a success that I would like to recreate it with biographies that cover a variety of cultural backgrounds.
It is important that my students read about successful people from cultures that reflect their own identity.
This project will allow me to bring a selection of books to my students so that they can choose who they would like to learn about, in addition to the Black biographies that I already have. By purchasing three copies of each book, I can get one book for the classroom library so that the kids have access to the books at all times. This leaves me with two copies of the book that are available for the project in case two students are interested in the same person. Thank you so much for considering to donate to this project!
