My Students

My Students

Most of my students are brand new to school and need all the support they can get.

I want to provide them with various materials that will catch their attention!

Our students come from many diverse backgrounds and socioeconomic statuses.

Some of our students are English Language Learners and have completely immersed themselves into learning a new language. Our students come from all areas of our city, including some areas that have high pockets of poverty. All students receive free breakfast and lunch.

Our school is part of the New York, 3-K and Pre-K for All Initiative.

This is the fifth year this program has been implemented. As educators, we take pride in being innovators and a part of this new initiative. However, with the lack of resources, it hinders our ability to provide a quality 3-K program for all students.

We work collaboratively to support and provide for all of our students, but feel they could achieve so much more with the necessary tools. We want our students to be prepared and successful in their future school endeavors and have access to the materials needed to succeed!

My Project

I use centers everyday to help my students learn in the classroom, but unfortunately all I have is a black and white printer that constantly runs out of paper and ink!

To really capture the attention of my students I want to provide beautiful and bright visuals for my students and to enhance our classroom.

With younger students you have to do all you can, to grab and keep their attention.

This is just another aspect of providing a stimulating environment that I would like to add to my classroom. It may not seem like a color printer is that big of a deal, but it makes a huge difference, especially with such young children! Students get excited when they see bright new colorful games, crafts, and activities. I just want to keep that excitement and engagement going all year!
