Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are diving deep into the controversies surrounding social and environmental injustices that they and others in their generation are poised to inherit. They are ready to change the world!

Students in my seventh grade Social Studies classroom are fired up about injustices around them.

I teach several classes of students from Queens with family roots from all over the world. They want to connect more, learn deeply and have an impact on the world around them.

My Project

My students are finishing up their most challenging school year yet. We have been home for part of the time, but in school for quite a while as well. We remain connected through our shared love of social justice, our love for learning and having fun. The supplies funded through this project will help brighten their days at home and in school.

Personalized photos, stickers, and labels from this project will help to brighten up the spaces we create in our classroom and will carry these shared memories home with students as well.

We will read together, act out our favorite moments, and celebrate with picture taking and creative crafting projects. These materials will help students bring their learning to life. Clipboards will help us carry our learning outside which has been key during this pandemic year. Acting out moments from history with games and celebrations help to make life-long memories. We look forward to ending our year with many celebrations made possible through these classroom supplies.
