This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our Algebra students are energetic, curious, and eager to learn. They come from diverse backgrounds and bring a wide range of perspectives to the classroom, making every lesson engaging and unique. What makes our students special is their resilience and determination to master challenging concepts, even when they might struggle at first. They are problem-solvers at heart, and they thrive when given the tools to explore math creatively.

This project will provide crucial supplies for our Algebra department, supporting five teachers and their classrooms.

The dry erase markers and erasers will make our daily practice problems more interactive, allowing students to show their thinking step-by-step on whiteboards. Highlighters will help them identify key information in word problems and highlight critical steps in their notes. Golf pencils will ensure every student can participate, even if they forget their materials. The grid whiteboards will transform complex graphing activities into hands-on experiences, while the magnetic dry erase graph will be a game-changer for demonstrating algebraic concepts to the whole class. Index cards will be used for quick review games, flashcards, and interactive problem-solving stations. The six inch rulers are essential for accurately graphing and measuring, reinforcing precision in our students’ work. LED lights will create a welcoming atmosphere that keeps our students focused and excited to learn.

Our goal for this project is to create a math environment that sparks curiosity and confidence in every student. These supplies will provide them with the tools they need to engage deeply with Algebra, making abstract concepts come alive through hands-on activities and visual learning. With these resources, we aim to inspire a love for math and set the foundation for academic success in all our Algebra classes.
