My Project

The students in my class are eager learners full of energy and curiosity. They constantly surprise me with their unique perspectives and ideas. But what makes them truly special is their diversity; they come from a wide range of backgrounds, each bringing a rich tapestry of experiences to our classroom. This diversity fuels dynamic discussions, fosters empathy, and enriches our learning environment.

For this project, I am requesting classroom decor items that will brighten up our very used and dated 20 year old classroom.

Items such as lamps, pillows, desk organizers, and plants. I am also requesting learning materials to replace the tattered ones we have. Items such as learning clocks, liquid measuring tools and pencils. These items will support and enhance the children’s learning experiences. The decor items like lamps, pillows and plants will create a cozy and warm environment for students to be comfortable learning, especially since many of our children lack that in their homes (a large majority of the children live in shelters and other temporary housing and are not afforded those opportunities). The learning clocks, measuring tools and other manipulatives will allow the children to take part in a hands-on learning experience which will not only solidify their understanding of math and reading but also develop essential skills such as critical thinking, collaboration, and communication.

My goal for this project is to create a learning environment where students feel empowered to express themselves in new and meaningful ways and a warm, cozy, safe, inviting environment.

Each one of my students has incredible potential, and I believe that with the right resources, they can achieve anything they set their minds to. This project is about giving them the opportunity to shine, to build confidence, and to see the value in their own voices and ideas.
