Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My PreK class is located in a public school. My students come from immigrant families, essential worker families, single-parent families, and foster homes, all of whom have been greatly impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.

Despite adversity, my students and their families kept daily communication and participation with remote learning.

Every day my students greeted each other with smiles and excitement to connect, play, and learn new things on Google Meets. I am so proud of not only their hard work but also their families’ commitment to their education.

My Project

Please help us replace our broken light table!

Light tables are versatile teaching and learning tools that can be used for open play, academic learning, sensory integration, and scientific discovery.

The lighted surface draws kids in and enhances the learning process. Children learn best visually. A light table makes the visuals the main feature of whatever the child is learning or exploring. This also enhances the colors and provokes their imagination. Having a light table will help Improve my student’s observation skills by encouraging them to notice the subtle details on materials that are presented on the lighted surface which they otherwise would not have been able to see.
