Hello! Reading is a big part of each day in my first grade class. I would like to obtain read aloud books for my children. The kids look forward to read aloud time each day. They like to borrow these books to share with their families as well. Unfortunately, our current classroom library does not have a lot of interesting read alouds, and the books that we do have are worn from years of love. New books would brighten our library and would provide my wonderful children with a school year filled with exciting stories and adventures! In addition to hearing these books being read by me, the children will also read them independently during free reading time. As their reading skills get stronger, my first graders are able to read interesting books like the ones I am requesting! I have requested some books by Aliki pertaining to science and social studies topics we cover throughout the year, such as the five senses and making friends. These books will enhance our first grade science and social studies curriculum. I also requested several books by a favorite author of ours - Kevin Henkes, along with a teacher's guide which has activities to use along with these books. The children will get to hear these books and then do fun projects based on them! Thanks so much for reading this request!
