Bridging the Gap Through Fashion

Help me give my students an opportunity to showcase their fashion and crafting talents. Help us teach and work with students! We are asking for a sewing machine to create clothing and a bumper plate to hold fabric.

My Project

Clicking, thumping, clacking, and children chatting are the sounds you hear in this room. Students are wide-eyed and eager on Friday afternoons, anxiously waiting to see which project is on the agenda for the day.

Students are passionate and strong-willed, we are requesting more resources for all students to have a chance to work during club sessions.

We are asking for a sewing machine that can be used for beginning or intermediate learners. A bumper plate to hold fabric in place is also on the wish list.

This club is comprised of about thirty students that have a range of talents: modeling, artistry, and sewing. Our goal is to have students build confidence as well as enhance their talents in the fashion industry. Another goal would be to host a community fashion show to encourage students to pursue their fashion interests.

These students are special because it takes great drive to establish and maintain their own school club. These students have written proposals, gathered students, developed agendas, and sought donations. The adult in this case only has to do what is required by an adult. This club is running off of passion and dreams. Resources are required to make this experience worthwhile for students.
