Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Technology in the classroom makes a huge impact in students' learning and it has an even bigger impact when teaching students with disabilities and English Language Learners.

My students are fifth grade students, and many of them are English Language Learners.

They are energetic and motivated to learn every day. They are from a low socioeconomic community and most of them have limited access to technological resources at home. The elementary school they attend is also limited in resources. The use of a tablet in the classroom will help stimulate them visually and develop their fine motor skills.

My Project

It can be a challenge to keep students with special needs on task. However, the tablets would greatly benefit their needs as it would give them access to e-books, animated stories, and math activities, which would expand their attention and interest level in different subjects. The tablets would also be used along with our computer and math centers for educational interactive activities and apps.

This project is very meaningful for my students.

Although my students have special needs, I teach them to be the best that they can be. The use of tablets in the classroom will expose them to technology based curriculum and build their confidence.
