Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

It is essential to promote mindfulness and self-care in my classroom in order to help reduce students' stress and show them appreciation for their hard work. Using the supplies I asked for, I hope to create a peaceful haven for my students. With its Keurig coffee maker, pods, and creamer, I want to set up a coffee station on a rolling cart to provide students with a cozy area to take mindful breaks and regroup their thoughts. In addition to providing fun labs and activities that the students may use for years to come, I want to use the laminating machine to create posters highlighting the significance of mental health and place them on the cart.

My goal for this project is to provide resources that will make my classroom a welcoming environment that my students look forward to, where they feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.

This calming corner can help create a sense of community, where my students can connect with each other and de-stress. What makes my students special is that they demonstrate so much determination and effort in what they do despite the difficulties they face, and they deserve to be in an atmosphere that gives them the confidence to thrive in both their academic and emotional lives.
