My Project
We need supplies for our Brew Crew Café, an in-school coffee shop run by my autistic support students. Through hands-on experience, they learn valuable life, social, and communication skills, while also improving their math by handling real money. They take orders, make, sell, and deliver coffee, tea, warm apple cider, and hot chocolate to school staff.
Providing these supplies supports not only the café but also the students' development of financial literacy.
By working with real transactions, they learn to manage money, and budget, and understand the value of their work. This is key to preparing them for future independence and financial responsibility.
