My Students

A typical day in my classroom starts with literacy and moves to math, science and social studies. It is a challenge daily to keep my students interested in learning without materials in which our district greatly lacks. Our students are in dire need of assistance in reading/math.

The students within my school are 99% below poverty level.

Many students do not come equipped with the basic daily needs such as notebooks and pencils. Our students present many challenges both in behavior and learning. It helps a great deal to have fun and interesting material to put into centers to make learning more enjoyable and to allow the students to feel accomplished. Having these materials also allows for students to work together and to foster a sense of friendship and trust which is a difficult concept for many. The students long to learn and I want to be the teacher to make them feel as if they can conquer anything!!

My Project

If my resources are funded, my students will use these materials during center time as an opportunity to extend the curriculum in a more fun and enjoyable way. These center games allow the students to believe they are playing without even realizing they are learning as well. My students learn greatly through making activities into games as I have found and I will assure you we will use these materials DAILY.

Donations to our project will greatly impact the lives of the learners within my classroom.

These materials will allow my students an extension of what concepts are being taught within the classroom and allow learning to come to life and be fun! My students work very hard during center time and it brings great joy to these children to be able to play and learn together. "I believe the children are our future.
