Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from many neighborhoods in New York City, and from many backgrounds. They are African-American, West Indian, West African, Latino, Central American, Asian, and Eastern European, among other nationalities and cultures. They are also a diverse group in terms of learning issues and gender identity.

My students are striving for a better future through their education.

Most will be the first person in the family to attend college. My students can be positively transformed each day with highly engaging educational experiences.

My Project

In the past, when we created a project to be funded, we usually asked for generous help with books, computers, or other supplies. And, those have been great and will be put to use again this year.

But, as we know, this year is different - this year is unique.

Our number one priority is to make our classroom safe, and it has to start with the very air we will breathe.

We are asking for your help, so that we can have a powerful HEPA air filter and an exhaust fan in each room, to provide crucial filtration and ventilation for the health and safety of our students.
