My Project

I teach our youngest learners in an integrated special education preschool classroom which includes children with a wide variety of backgrounds and learning needs! I have seen the social-emotional needs of my students change over the last few years, and I would like to gain new skills and knowledge on how to better meet the needs of my students. Funding for this project for Breathe For Change will allow me to bring research-backed social-emotional learning practices into my special education classroom to support students’ emotional well-being and create a culture of care and compassion. Upon completion of this training, I will be trained to design and facilitate wellness workshops and professional development for my school to foster a well-being-centered culture. In addition, I will complete a 200-hour yoga certification to teach trauma-informed, accessible yoga and meditation practices to my students which will create a safe space for healing and growth. I will be qualified to lead wellness classes for my students and school community.

Mrs. Perron will only receive funding for her trip if this project is fully funded by August 8.
