I need this professional development funded to support students in learning mindfulness, yoga and SEL. I will be a certified yoga instructor and qualified to lead wellness classes to students and adults.

My Project

I am looking for funding for Breathe for Change (B4C) training. With this training I will be able to teach students and adults about mindfulness, yoga and Social-Emotional learning. I want to improve my own physical and mental well-being as well as teach others to do the same. I want to teach yoga and meditation to my students to help them with calming skills and being mindful of what they are doing. I want them to have skills that will help them be successful in their lives. The students I work with come from low-income households, and many have had trauma in their lives. This professional development will help me teach them to learn new ways to understand how they can help themselves in their lives to deal with stress and unexpected changes that arise. I work with students preK-5th grade. I am a classroom teacher, but I also do after school programs and can reach many more students and I can even teach wellness classes to adults with this training.
