My Students

As the technology teacher for our school community, I am not in the classroom daily. Instead, I work with the classroom teachers to create large scale projects for the students that incorporate technology of all types.

Located in Philadelphia, our school is a small but powerful force for positive change.

Students in our school are encouraged to explore and create in a variety of outlets, including a woodshop. Our school is in its second year and we are slowly adding to our materials and supplies to further help our students succeed.

My Project

Have you tried one of those popular escape rooms before? Well, it's not really good to lock a group of students in a classroom but the principles are the same. Instead, we lock a prize in a box and students need to solve a series of puzzles to "escape" the box.

These kits will be shared among multiple classrooms as it travel between classes and subject areas.

Breakout EDU's digital catalog provides hundreds of games that are predesigned to meet academic standards. Each piece of the kit is customizable and therefore students can play over and over without repeating a game. The best part is students don't realize they're learning/reviewing because they are having fun competing and working together. The game also fosters teamwork and collaboration skills.
