My Students

Every morning I walk into my classroom excited to see my students & help them spend the day growing and learning. I welcome my students into the classroom with high fives, "Good morning!" & "How are you doing?" We call this "threshold", where the teacher stands at the door and greets the students!

I have the greatest students a teacher could ask.

I'm sure all teachers would say that on here, but I really truly mean it. They are not the easiest bunch to get along with and they take a long time to warm up to their teachers because they're so used to teachers quitting on them. My school may be disadvantaged in many ways, but when you truly care, the students will move mountains for you. I love every one of my students and they know my investment and dedication to them is sincere and so in return I know that they will work their hardest in my classes!

My Project

I really want to give my students the tools they need to become successful and productive members of our community. America is on the cusp of change that will even out the plane between the races. And I believe that providing the students with an understanding of how slavery still affects our society today will help them in making the changes that need to be made to progress our society. Reading this book will help students better analyze the current situation of blacks within the United States and what can be done about it.

I work at a disadvantaged school, and teachers like me, who are excited to work there, are few and far between.

I want to provide my students with the best since they are so dedicated to their success, but their circumstances have them at a disadvantage when it comes to materials and supplies. Not many of them are able to purchase the book and I believe this book is very important in helping the students grow in to responsible adults.
