My class of 24 students are extremely diverse. They speak seven languages besides English and come from anywhere from a low to high socio-economic status. Some students struggle to meet grade-level expectations without extensive supports, while others are gifted and need to be challenged in order to meet their full potential. All of my students are unique and learn in their own way. This wide range of needs can be a challenge, but is more than anything, an asset to the classroom culture.
My Project
The Breakout EDU kit will allow me to successfully implement escape rooms in my classroom. The digital subscription gives access to a large library of standards-aligned games that can be played not only in-person but also during distance learning! While the Teachers Pay Teachers gift card will unlock even more resources for classroom escape rooms.
With escape rooms my students will be able to engage in learning new content and applying their knowledge to solve problems.
These activities have students working collaboratively to solve various puzzles related to a specific content area. It makes learning more fun!
