Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My 3rd graders are amazing knowledge seekers and full of questions. They absolutely love engaging in learning with their classmates and participating with each other everyday! My students come from diverse cultural backgrounds, and many of them are English Language Learners or special needs students and come from low socio-economic households. Each and every one of them is unique with their own set of special strengths and abilities.

My students' motivation and eagerness to learn is their biggest and most significant strength!

They are inner-city kids that have bravely faced the unexpected challenges of 2020. During these uncertain times, they are still determined and dedicated to their work. They wake up every morning, happy and ready to learn and engage with their school family. They are a most amazing group of kids that will surely have the brightest of futures!

My Project

My students are exceptionally hard workers and put their best effort into their work. We all know this school year will be different, and I know my students will rise to the occasion no matter the obstacles they may face. In our classroom, we are used to producing our work and creating final pieces of classwork on pen and paper. As a result of the current COVID-19 pandemic, teachers are being asked to do as much work using technology in the classroom...BUT WAIT!!....What's going to happen to all that beautiful work we used to create with paper, pencils and crayons? What work will decorate and stand out proudly on our bulletin boards? What will my students look up to and be proud of what they have accomplished?

Having a color printer in our classroom will enable and motivate my students even more when working on their different tasks and having to publish and share!

My students will be able to print their final pieces of work and proudly look up to them on our classroom bulletin boards. Also, I would be able to print resources and learning materials that support my visual and tactile learners, such as literacy bookmarks and take-home math manipulatives. Lastly, we all know that a little color adds a splash of happiness to a classroom, and helps make a classroom an inviting place to learn and grow.
