Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The items I am requesting will be able to help the campus start their first news station! Our school is in South Los Angeles where families have struggled economically. Our students would like to start a news station to bring together the community and share all the great events and projects done on and off campus!

What makes our students special is that they are hard working, and never give up!

They are united and have been able to overcome many challenges in their lives. We are reaching out today to ask for help in getting our new station going!

Students will use the resources such as cameras, lighting, and microphones for life and social skills by being able to communicate with staff and peers on campus in a professional setting. They will learn how to work different aspects of lighting, camera usage and technology, which will increase their skills towards future jobs in working with technology and TV. They will be able to get the aspect of teamwork as well, being able to work with each other for projects, and know the concept of help and responsibility.

The goals for the project is to practice communication, social, and teamwork skills as we spotlight the events of campus this spring semester, and building on it for the following year to come. Examples of the events are: Cougar Cafe, Carv-chella, Prom, and Lalapalooza! Plus other fundraiser and community events given by our campus.

Our campus have many clubs and programs that many have worked hard to start and continue, please help us show the community around us the amazing things our students and campus staff does on an everyday basis.
